DESCRIPTION:A native of Santos\, Brazil\, Sergio Santos has been a performing musician in Austin since the mid-1980s.\n\n\n\nA native of Santos\, Brazil\, Sergio Santos has been a performing musician in Austin since the mid-1980s\, specializing in a broad range of Brazilian and other Latin American musical styles and instruments. \nHe was a member of two of Austin’s earliest Brazilian-music dance bands\, Quizumba and the award-winning Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police\, both of which performed for crowds of thousands at Austin’s annual Carnaval Brasileiro and at venues across Texas. \nMore recently\, Sergio was a member of the eclectic Latin quartet Catavento\, the Brazilian choro band Crying Monkeys\, and the forró band Forró de Quintal. He continues to perform with diverse Brazilian-music artists in Austin. \n\n\n\n
