DESCRIPTION:Raphael Ferreira is a Brazilian saxophonist\, composer\, and arranger.\n\n\n\nRaphael Ferreira is a Brazilian saxophonist\, composer\, and arranger. Between projects as a soloist or co-leader\, he has released eight albums. As an instrumentalist\, Ferreira is part of the Latin Grammy-winning Hermeto Pascoal Big Band. \nIn collaborations or as a sideman\, he has worked with Airto Moreira\, Flora Purim\, Arismar do Espírito Santo\, Filó Machado\, Nelson Sargento\, Phil DeGreg\, Letieres Leite and Rosa Passos\, having toured South and North Americas\, Europe and Morocco. \nAs a composer\, he received the Nascente Award at São Paulo University\, Brazil in 2006. Ferreira earned his Masters in 2009 and Doctoral in 2016 degrees in music by The State University of Campinas\, Brazil. Raphael also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from São Paulo University\, Brazil. In 2008\, he attended the International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music at Banff Centre in Canada. Currently\, besides the artistic activities\, Ferreira is a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the Division of Jazz Studies of the University of North Texas\, and Associate Professor at The Institute of Arts of Federal University of Uberlândia\, Brazil. \n\n\n\n
