Award-winning Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police, which performed for crowds of thousands at Austin’s annual Carnaval Brasileiro
A native of Santos, Brazil, Sergio Santos has been a performing musician in Austin since the mid-1980s, specializing in a broad range of Brazilian and other Latin American musical styles and instruments.
He was a member of two of Austin’s earliest Brazilian-music dance bands, Quizumba and the award-winning Susanna Sharpe and Samba Police, both of which performed for crowds of thousands at Austin’s annual Carnaval Brasileiro and at venues across Texas.
More recently, Sergio was a member of the eclectic Latin quartet Catavento, the Brazilian choro band Crying Monkeys, and the forró band Forró de Quintal. He continues to perform with diverse Brazilian-music artists in Austin.
